Photography Scholarships Description: Nature has proven to be a rich source of diverse organic chemical compounds for drug development. Marine sponges are accounted for production of natural products that show strong anti-cancer activity. It has been widely reported that many pharmaceutical companies have less of lead compounds in their development pipeline and existing recent resurgence of interest in natural products chemistry to provide new guidance for the pharmaceutical pipeline. There are offered two Department of Law and Criminal Sociology Graduate Fellowships in the competition every year. Are usually for a doctorate (PhD) and a candidate for a master's degree (LLM or DEA) candidates.

The Photography Scholarships are for applicants who have a Master of Law (LL.M.), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) study. Master students can either be taught or research degrees. Distance learning programs are not included.

The Photography Scholarships department of Law and graduate fellowships in criminology with a value of £ 2000 per year. This can pay for tuition. Fellows enrolled in a doctoral program is subject to £ 2,000 per year will receive a satisfactory progress in the program for up to three years. LLM students receive in the amount of only one year.

The Department of Law and Criminology has the power to terminate or suspend a scholarship if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a recipient.

We would like Photography Scholarships to invite applications for the post of Clinical Senior Lecturer in Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Translational Science (Not Holding a Consultant Contract). The Photography Scholarships post holder will work with Professor Murphy and Professor Fahy to develop novel studies examining normal brain development; and how abnormalities in this process may lead to abnormalities such as callous unemotional behaviour in childhood, psychopathy in adulthood, autism, and/or ADHD; and/or other neuropsychiatric disorders of interest to the CAG. The population you will initially serve is young adults thought to potentially have ASD/ADHD, or adults who have received a diagnosis of ADHD previously.

The Photography Scholarships post holder will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that manages and develops the National Maudsley Service for Autism Spectrum Disorders / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders Service (including our satellite clinic in Sittingbourne (Kent) developed for Eastern & Coastal Kent PCT). PhD Masters Scholarships student in the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences (SILS)

The PhD student will work on the molecular basis of aging in Caenorhabditis elegans. He/she will work under the daily supervision of McGillarvy fellow Dr Yelena Budovskaya who has come over from Stanford to start her own research line in Amsterdam. Aging limits the normal lifespan of all animals, and is a major risk factor for most diseases. Several model organisms are currently being used to study the aging process including yeast, fruit flies, nematodes, mice, and humans. Of these, the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans is one of the most attractive and useful organisms for studying aging and lifespan. C. elegans normally has a relatively short lifespan of two weeks, enabling one to assess the effects of different mutations or treatments on lifespan. Although many genes and genetic pathways have been found that specify lifespan, relatively little is known about the differences between young and old worms at either the cellular or molecular levels. The long-term goal of this project is to explore in detail the molecular basis of aging in the nematode C. elegans, by first characterizing the differences between young and old animals and then determining how these changes cause young lively animals to become old and frail.

It has been shown that aging at least in part can be caused by developmental pathways that continue functioning throughout the lifespan of the worm (developmental drift theory of aging). The elt-3/elt-5/elt-6 GATA transcriptional circuit is one of the first and clearest examples of developmental drift. This project aims to utilize a combination of genomics, bioinformatics, traditional genetics, and molecular biology to explore the cascade of events that occur in this developmental pathway during aging. In addition, we will investigate whether there are additional pathways that are key to the development of the young organism but drift during aging. Developmental drift in worms is a newly hypothesized mechanism for aging, which might apply to mice and man too. Exploring these mechanisms will help to elucidate whether the developmental pathways that create young tissues, continue to work, as animals get old, now causing aging and death. The work is embedded in the theme ‘Quantitative systems analysis of biological stress response' and will be reinforced by the presence of technical assistance and two other PhD students who with another PI work on induced stress response in C. elegans.

Requirements

A Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or Molecular Biology (or equivalent); experience with molecular biological techniques; interest in quantative analysis; experience with C. elegans is an advantage; the ability to work in a team; the ability to work independently.

Kent Business School (KBS) invites applications for a full time research studentship leading to the degree of PhD commencing in June 2010. Kent Business School is the business and management department of the University of Kent. Over the last five years the School has experienced a major shift in research culture and undergone considerable expansion appointing over 19 senior research-active academics. Promoting Social Cohesion and Wellbeing through Community Creative Projects scholarships

The research will investigate the benefits afforded by different creative community projects (e.g. those based on arts, crafts, music and environment) for the long term social cohesion and well being of communities, through studying a representative range of projects from the West Midlands. At least one of the chosen arts projects will benefit from existing arrangements for promoting participatory work and other parallel supportive factors like life coaching.

By adopting a qualitative and participatory approach, the study will lead to an understanding of the mechanisms and processes that contribute to the social benefits of community projects, and the development of a methodology through which these benefits can be evaluated. One outcome of the project will be an evidence-based ‘tool kit’ that can be used by other organisations wishing to promote sustainable social cohesion through creative community projects.

The successful candidate will be based at Coventry University, but will spend part of her/his time working with Imagineer Productions and participating in a small number of community projects. A programme of appropriate postgraduate training courses will be provided by the university, and the student will benefit from Imagineer’s extensive experience of managing community projects.

The ideal candidate will have a good first degree (at least 2:1) in a relevant subject area (e.g. Geography, Art and Design, Sociology, Cultural/Media Studies) and have completed an ESRC recognised Masters programme.

1. An overview of the government's efforts in the visual arts have found that if the university scientists had room for self-employed as an institutional framework for the exchange of employment by the Scientific Committee of the University, the Council established scientific and industrial research, there was no system that the facilities and similar opportunities in the arts or creative to revive, to see some of our traditional art forms.
2. An environment of freedom supported by a financial guarantee may also provide the much needed cogeniality working environment in this area. Number of scholarships from the Ministry of Culture

The number of scholarships is currently 250 per year. There are two types, namely, fraternity and juniors. The number of scholarships are 125 Senior value of Rs.15000/-each per month for the artists, aged 40 years and older. The number of scholarships are 125 Junior and Rs.7500/-each value per month for the artists, aged 25-40 years. Age is counted by 1 April of the year.

Publishing Grant

Could there also a grant of time to Rs.20, 000 / - or 50% of the cost of publication, whichever is less, documented for the publication of a particular project. This is limited to 20% of the beneficiaries.

Granting of scholarships from the Ministry of Culture

Applicants for higher grants should not be the beneficiary of a pension from this Department under the financial support scheme for artists to grant the poverty line.

The applicant must not previously used the same community. Candidates for the scholarships can be a Junior Senior Fellowship application had been granted, provided that 5 years has elapsed after the end of the previous project.

Graduation is the minimum education for eligibility.

Terms

Candidates, the worker is forced through the appropriate channels. You have to study to be licensed for two years. The first installment on that in such cases will only be released after receiving a penalty of license.

Among the grants seniors and juniors, colleagues report on the project six months. Where these reports are not sent in time to keep the department in May, after the standard version.

Selected candidates will undertake education and application of research-based projects which will benefit from scholarships. They are their projects within two years to complete and submit it to this department. Extend the deadline for financial responsibility of the government.

1. Applying for the award of the scholarship will be invited each year by an ad in the format attached.
2. The application must be accompanied by a detailed project proposal on the subject.
3. If candidates from Central / State Ministries workers are institutions, they have to leave for a period of 2 years to take over the concession period.

4. They should submit their applications for scholarships through the Head of Department / institution / company / university, etc., a written guarantee that if the grant is approved, the candidate is on leave during the term of the scholarship.
5. The first installment of the grant will be issued in the proof of evidence of a sanction leave to the other conditions.
6. A panel of experts consisting of specialists from different areas will be formed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which would initially review all applications and restricted to deserve most of them for an interview.
7. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview by the panel of experts will select the most deserving for the community.

The paying authority

All donations are sanctioned under the scheme should be paid directly by the central government.

Beijing Municipal Government has established the “Beijing Government Scholarship” for Beijing University of Chemical Technology to encourage and provide funding assistance for the outstanding foreign students to pursue degree study or further education in BUCT and use it to reward those highly meritorious students who are currently studying at the University. Details of the Beijing Government Scholarship 2010 – 2011 are as the following:

II. Eligibility

1. Applicants shall be the citizens of the foreign countries with which China has established diplomatic relations; they shall be in good physical health and agree to obey the relevant laws of the PRC and the rules of the BUCT, with proven academic excellence.

2. Students applying for undergraduate degree programs at the BUCT shall hold high school certificates or above ; applicants for post-graduate degree courses shall hold university degrees or above; those who read for the PhD degrees shall hold master's degrees or above ;

3. Those who apply for advanced education of their specialties shall have the education background equivalent at least to bachelor degree or shall be the university students at the second year or above ;

4. Those who apply to undertake research at the BUCT as a visiting scholar shall hold master or above degrees, or possess the professional title of associate professor or above.

III. Application

1 Complete the Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship. Forms are available at the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of the BUCT or you can download the form from the BUCT website and print it out.

2. Certificate of highest degree (must be notarized by notary in applicant’s home country)

3. Transcript (must be notarized by notary in applicant’s home country)

4. Two reference letters from teachers (applicant for master’s and PhD degrees must provide reference letters from professors)

5. Resume and study plan (All the above material must be provided in Chinese or English)

6. HSK Certificate, Chinese proficiency test band 4 above (for applicants wish to study undergraduate or master courses taught in Chinese)

7. Photocopies of valid passport

Note: All application material provided by applicants will not be returned to them whether they are successful or not.

IV. Application time

The closing date for application shall be May 30, 2010, and the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of the BUCT shall have received all application material by the above time.

V. Qualification and notification:

The BUCT will assess the application submitted by applicants and will announce the list of scholarship award winners before June 30, 2010.

Answer every question. If you don't believe that a question applies to you, don't leave it blank – it could be judged incomplete. Don't mark the question N/A, not applicable. The evaluators may have a different point of view on its applicability and can disqualify you for failing to complete the form. Instead, answer the question if you can. If the question is truly not applicable, write a sentence that describes your situation. For example, if the question is, "What is your military history?" it is preferable to write "I have never served in the military" rather than leave it blank or write N/A.

Check, check and re-check for typos. Enlist help in this review. It is very hard to proof read your own material. Inevitably, your mind's eye reads what you thought you wrote, not what actually made it onto the page. A fresh reader will catch the words that you missed and find the spelling problems.

If there is one thing we learned from speaking with funders, it is that simple errors will remove you from the competition much more quickly than listing too few club activities. Even if you are not class valedictorian or community volunteer of the year or a survivor of some horrific circumstances with a heroic story to tell, you can still be in the finalist round by being sure you spelled the name of the scholarship fund correctly and attending to all of the other minor details that will make your application perfectly correct and therefore worthy of consideration.

Place the requested documents in the package in the order that they are requested. This consistency makes it easier for evaluators to locate information. It's also simpler for you to check the documents against the list of requirements.
